In God's Hands
I liked riding roller coasters when I was younger. The drops and turns were a little scary but I could enjoy them because I knew the rides were safe and that we would never go off the track. Eventually, we would get back to the platform safe-and-sound. We can have some gut-wrenching drops and distressing twists and turns in our lives. We may feel sometimes like our world has turned upside down and that our lives have gone off the track, as it were. Nothing can take us out of God’s hands. Jesus promises us, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand” (John 10:27-29). This doesn’t mean that we are immune from bad things happening to us.
