Open Book Test

Back in my school days, I was always happy to hear that an upcoming test was going to be an open book test. It was comforting to know that I had someplace to go to get help with whatever question I had. I can’t imagine not wanting to open the textbook if I needed help.

Our life is an open book test. God has given us the Bible to help us have the best life possible. We can find answers to the deepest questions of our heart. “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Heb 4:12).

We need to commit to reading and studying the Bible on a daily basis to help us grow in knowledge and discernment and faith. This can be a daunting task if you are just getting started. There are a number of resources available. There are study bibles for each translation. You can find bible studies at your church and online. How you decide to study is less important than your commitment to make God’s word a priority in your life.
